Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Python) – Fintech

Project Overview:
Our client is a customer of an Estonian technology partner operating in the fintech sector, specializing in invoice financing. The end client is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland.
You will join a mature system (approx. 8 years old) that was previously used internally and is now being opened to external customers and scaled. The platform is undergoing significant transformation, with increased requirements for security, performance, and reliability.
The core mission of the role is to build and productionize a machine learning engine for financial risk modeling.

Project Details:
  • Start date: ASAP (candidates with up to 1‑month notice period accepted)
  • Duration: 3–6 months (with potential extension)
  • Work model: 100% remote
    • Occasional on‑site visits to the client (maximum once per quarter / half‑year)
  • Project type: International, client‑facing
  • Language: English only (daily communication with the client)
Technology Stack:
  • Python
  • Machine Learning
  • ONNX (model export / serving)
Scope of Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain machine learning training pipelines
  • Develop predictive models for financial risk assessment
  • Prepare ML models for production deployment
  • Export or serve models using ONNX format
  • Work on scaling and hardening an existing ML system for external use
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and product stakeholders
Team Setup:
Current team consists of:
  • 2 Fullstack Developers (.NET / React)
  • Project Manager
  • Architect
  • DevOps Engineer
Required Experience & Skills (Must‑have):
  • Senior‑level experience in Machine Learning
  • Very strong Python skills
  • Commercial experience with ML projects
  • Hands‑on experience with predictive models
  • Experience preparing ML models for production environments
  • Fluent English (C1) – daily communication with an international client
